About The Purple Janus
The Purple Janus helps the health sector and other organisations working for public benefit to improve systems, services, generate better outcomes and transform organisational culture by providing bespoke Change and Quality Improvement programmes.
Whatever the system or performance issue, poor outcome, need for improvement or opportunity to innovate, I will help you to design and implement the right programme for change and develop a work culture of continuous improvement to sustain it.
Kasia Muszynska - Director
I have a career spanning over 10 years in designing and delivering change projects, from small-scale solutions to national programmes of work and change campaigns, in a variety of settings, including healthcare services, local authority, grassroots community organisations and international NGOs such as Save the Children UK. Over the last 5 years, I have dedicated myself to designing and leading national quality improvement collaboratives and patient safety projects in healthcare services while at the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.
I am an accredited APM change management practitioner. In my work I use Project Management (PRINCE2) and Quality Improvement tools. I'm a trained and practicing workplace coach. I use my host of skills and knowledge selectively to choose the approach that works best for you.
I worked with Kasia in establishing a novel pilot project to train children's diabetes health care professionals in Quality Improvement. This had not been previously attempted in the UK and Kasia was instrumental in setting up the pilot programme from scratch. I found her highly competent, professional and efficient. Her confidence helped to lead a group of clinicians who were comfortable in a clinical scenario, but less so in organising a new, large scale project, into delivering a highly successful pilot which has now been adopted into a large-scale national project in paediatric diabetes which has been highly regarded by participants and has attracted a good deal of interest from other fields of medicine and from other countries. Kasia added a great deal of what the clinicians did not have in seeing the project through to implementation and I would highly recommend her to help design and implement similar ventures.

Consultant Paediatrician and previous Chair of the National Children and Young People's Paediatric Diabetes Quality Programme
I work with clients, providing exceptional consulting services that are catered specifically to their needs. Take a look below at the services I offer and get in touch to achieve immediate results.
The first step to take is to understand the current situation: what do we know about the needs and behaviours of your patient or service user population? What do we know about the social, economic and environmental context in which they engage with you? How are your current systems and processes engaging with your target population? I will analyse available data and, if necessary, design a bespoke scoping process to ensure that I understand the situation your project or organisation is in.
From there, I will work with you to formulate specific project aims and propose an approach to meet them, leveraging and optimising your governance, workforce, resourcing, technology and services to create better outcomes for your organisation and those it benefits.
Project development and delivery
Working with you and your key stakeholders, I will develop a detailed project plan with concrete deliverables against timelines and budgets, underpinned by the principles of:
Person-centred approach (patients, beneficiaries, service users)
Purposeful stakeholder involvement
To this end, using tools from Project Management, Change Management, and Science for Improvement methodologies, and working under your guidance, I will help you to facilitate the development and delivery of:
User feedback and engagement mechanisms
Workforce training, development and support
System, service and process improvement
Data collection and measuring outcomes
Sustaining change after a project finishes can be a challenge. Embedding quality improvement and high-performance team development tools systematically in project governance and delivery, I will help you to develop a more accountable, team-based working culture, where staff across the organisation are skilled to continuously set targets, measure outcomes against agreed targets, identify areas for improvement and try out new solutions, underpinned by a sense of shared purpose and values.
